Hopes of the IndiaPakistan summit’s ending in agreement were raised when it was announced that Mrs Gandhi and President Bhutto would have more talks today, and that Mr Bhutto would return to Pakistan tomorrow. The two leaders had their first personal discussion* on Friday, the conference having begun at official level last Wednesday.

The Pakistani Foreign Secretary (Mr Iftikhar All) told a press conference held while the two principals were meeting that officials of both sides had submitted draft plans for ending 25 years of hostility between India and Pakistan.
