Schoolboy league
Canterbury A won the southern zone schoolboys under-13 Rugby league tournament in Christchurch at the week-end. Four teams—two from Canterbury and one each from the West Coast and Wellington—took part. Results were:—
Saturday: Canterbury B 13, Wellington 10; Canterbury A 41, West Coast 0. Sunday: West Coast 24, Wellington 6; Canterbury A 42, Canterbuty B 0.
The southern zone team chosen after the tournament is: G. Gibb (West Coast); R. Gibson (Canterbury), M. Belcher (Canterbury), R. Vincent (Canterbury), L. Wilkinson (Wellington), R. Pepere (Wellington), G. Gibson (West Coast), C. Talavi (Wellington), G. Cox (Canterbury), M. Crooks (West Coast), H. Kibblewhite (West Coast), L. Peika (Canterbury), K. Winter (Wellington), J. Coffey (Wellington), K. Piapa (Canterbury).
