<N.t. Press Association) GISBORNE. A brilliant try by the All Black captain, I. A. Kirkpatrick, was a feature of a drab game between Poverty Bay and Thames Valley on Saturday. Poverty Bay won by 32-12, after leading 12-3 at half-time.

Kirkpatrick’s try came in the second half when he fielded a centre kick about 35 yards out and burst away to score under the posts. For Poverty Bay, tries were scored by K. White, M. Lister, Kirkpatrick, A. Peterson, and R. Waide. W. Mabey converted three and kicked two penalty goals. B. McCollum kicked two penalties and a dropped goal and O. Passau kicked a penalty goal for Thames Valley.
