. (N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU. South Canterbury defeated the touring Californian Grizzlies Rugby team, 12-0, on a firm ground on Saturday. The superior forward play of South Canterbury was the telling factor. Tries for South Canterbury I were scored by R. Dorgan and R. Noble, and N. TwadIdell converted both.
i Golf.—N. Coles (Britain) beat his Ryder Cup partner, B. Huggett, in a play-off for the £2OOO first prize in the Sunbeam Scottish open golf tournament at Dundee. Cedes had a final round of 69 and Huggett 72.
