SECOND SCHOOL
Psysiotherapy training (N.Z Press Atsociatlon) AUCKLAND, July 2. A physiotherapy school would be established soon in Auckland, the second such school in New Zealand, said the Acting Minister of Health (Mr Thomson) last night. The Cabinet had decided that the new school would be under the control of the Auckland Technical Institute, close to the Auckland School of Medicine and Auckland Hospital. "Until now, physiotherapy training has been at the Dunedin School of Medicine under the control of the Otago Hospital Board,” Mr Thomson said.
The stage had been reached when the Dunedin school could not be expanded further to cope with the growing demand for physiotherapy training. Mr Thomson added hat negotiations would begin with the intention of transferring the Dunedin Physiotherapy School to the Otago Polytechnic.
Candidate.—The Minister of Justice (Sir Roy Jack) will be the National Party candidate for Rangitikei in the General Election this year.— (P.A.)
