The Finance Bill was introduced and read a first time. Five clauses were referred to the Education Committee.
A petition from deerstalkers was received. The annual report of the National Research Advisory Council was tabled. Ministers answered 10 questions. Most favoured recommendation was recommended by the Petitions Committee for a petition signed by R. Waishing and 1810 others asking that New Zealanders be accorded their full national rights overseas.
The Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill was passed through all remaining stages, and the House rose at 4 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.
