Venue for snooker

There !s a chance that Christchurch’s already lengthy list of sporting attractions in early 1874 will be further increased.

The English-based Billiards and Snooker Control Council, the world body for the two sports, has offered the 1974 snooker championships to New Zealand. If the offer is taken up, the venue is likely to be either Christchurch or Dunedin.

The Canterbury association is hopeful that Christchurch will be selected and that the tournament will be held about the time of the Commonwealth Games.
