Proposals made by the chairman of the Heathcote County Council (Mr E. L. Tyndall) to the Local Government Commission during its sittings in Christchurch for an amalgamation of Heathcote and the Banks Peninsula counties will be discussed at a meeting to be arranged between the parties. Mr Tyndall said at his council meeting last evening that he would take the initiative in arranging a meeting between representatives of the Heathcote, Akaroa, Wairewa and Mount Herbert county councils.
