(N.Z. PreM Association) AUCKLAND. June 29. A lOOyd-long telex message will be sent to the French newspaper “La Monde** tomorrow night or on Saturday morning as a protest against the French nuclear tests in the PertfleThe message is to the French people and President Pompidou and will be made op of about 80,000 names of Aucklanders who are against the tests. Mr D. A. Madeod, a 25-year-old interior decorator from Mount Albert, set up about 10 collection points in the Auckland area to collect the signatures. Those signing were asked to give 20c to help to pay for the message. It is hoped that by tomorrow night $16,000 will have been collected. It Is expected that the message will take about five hours to send. The president of the Auckland Post Office Association, Mr B. B. Bolland, said the ban on telegram services to France and her ratine territories aiso applied to telex messages. The protesters wffl not be able to use a Post Office machine,** he said, “but If they use a private machine they can dial a direct line.**
