Union posts dropped

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 16. The president of the Federation of Labour (Mr T. E. Skinner) has resigned as an official of yet another trade union. He has been succeeded as the Auckland Shipwrights and Boatbuilders* Union secretary by Mr B. Morrison, who recently took over from Mr Skinner as the Auckland Glassworkers’ Union secretary. Mr Skinner has resigned from a number of unions since he was elected full-time president of the F.O.L. He retains one union secretaryship in order to qualify as an officer of the F.O.L. This is the Airline Stewards and Hostesses’ Union. In the last year, Mr Skinner has withdrawn from eight unions. Mr Morrison has taken on four, and Mr H. H. Irvine, the clothing trade union secretary, the others.
