(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 16. Not one of the 50,000 $1 notes which disappeared more than two years ago from a consignment shipped from Britain to New Zealand has been returned to the Reserve Bank, which is still on the alert for them. A spokesman for th* bank said today that the. prefix of the missing notes, 7Y, was still remembered by many people. In a recent example of this, the bank received note, which had the prefix very carefully altered to read 7Y. The note was found by the bank’s checking system and Inquiries were made back at the trading bank in the Hamilton area which had sent it in. The note, which was subsequently paid, was definitely not a genuine 7Y. However, the Reserve Bank was Interested to see that the stolen 7Y series was still remembered by the public. It would never

be forgotten by the bank, said the spokesman.
