Granada awards

Granada Television programmes won two of the major awards — for the second year running—in the TV awards given by the “Sun,” the London daily newspaper. The awards, made by a poll of “Sun” readers, were to “A Family at War” as the top TV series of 1971 and to “World in Action” as the top current affairs programme. “A Family at War” is the 52-part series about a family and its experiences during the 1939-45 war. It has been sold to Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Holland, Hong Kong, Iceland, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden. “World in Action,” the weekly film programme of in-depth reporting and investigation is shown in countries all over the world. The “Sun” awards presentations were televised from London on April 14.
