RATES UP IN AUCKLAND
r (N.Z. Press Association* ■ AUCKLAND, April 28. ! Auckland ratepayers face ■■ ; 20 per cent increase in thei ’ levies to the Auckland Re ’ gional Authority this year. The authority has struck e levy—the difference between ' spending and income—of . $6,605,936. This Is more than . slm higher than last year. The levy could have ’ reached $7.7m, or a 40 per cent increase on last year, had it not been for lastminute pruning of budgets and adjustments of capital works.
