£60 oysters gorged
The Mayor of Scarborough (Mr Peter Jaconelli) has claimed the world oystereating record after swallowing 500 oysters in 48 minutes seven seconds. It took Mr Jaconelli only 47 minutes to equal the old record—4Bo oysters in an hour—but he carried on eating because he was still hungry. The oysters cost £6o.—Scarborough England, April 28.
