Boys’ community work
Sir,—I would like to express my appreciation to the 20 pupils from Christchurch Boys’ High School who this week cleared up my garden, which I am now unable to do. I believe that all the pupils of the school are doing this work throughout the city. I think it is a grand idea which allows youth to do something productive in the community, and it is acts like these which deserve publicity rather than the acts of vandalism which get into the papers. To the thousand boys who have done this work, and on behalf of all those people who have benefited, I say thank you.— Yours, etc., IRENE A. McLAREN. April 27, 1972.
