Manslaughter verdict

(N.Z. Press Assoetation? AUCKLAND, April 27. Eric Gray, aged 29, a carpenter was today found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter of his wife in their Sandringham home on January 20. The jury of 11 men and one woman took 70 minutes to reach the verdict. Mr Justice Mahon remanded Gray in custody foi sentence. Gray pleaded not guilty. The Crown alleged Gray strangled his wife in bed during an argument. His Honour directed the jury that there was some evidence on which to considei the defence of provocation.
