Miss Evert in final
(NZ. Press Assn.—Copyright) ST PETERSBURG (Florida). The teen-age tennis star, Miss C. Evert (United States) beat the top-seeded Mrs B. J. King, 6-2, 6-3 in the semifinals of the Virginia Slims Masters tennis tournament on Saturday. Mrs King used numerous drop shots in an effort to draw her 17-year-old opponent to the net, but Miss Evert simply blasted winning returns. Mrs N. Gunter, seeded two also won through to the final with a 7-5, 7-6 victory over Mrs J. Dalton (Australia).
