Preparing for Olympics

; The West German authorities are not leaving much to chance in their preparations for the I Olympic Games in Munich ; later this year. The “German Tribune,” ian English - language i weekly digest of the ; German press, reports that ;an Olympic “peace- ; keeping” bill is being pre- ■ sented to the Bundestag, I the lower house of the ! West German Parliament. ; If passed, the bill will . empower the Bavarian ■ State Government to r decree the surroundings of ! the Olympic sports facili- ; ties in Munich out of ; bounds for public meet- ; ings and processions while the Games are on. The Games organisers , are also getting ready to i welcome 250,000 visitors ;with a “hospitality cam- ; paign.” Every foreign ; visitor who buys tickets i for the games will re- : ceive a button read- ; ing "Olympiagast” — ; “Olympic guest”; and ; policemen in Munich t-e being taught foreign , languages at night classes ! so that they will be able ; to assist visitors. The Munich city authori- ! ties have compiled a : special Olympic telephone book in English, French and German. In addition ;to telephone numbers it > will carry maps of ! Olympic facilities and post I offices in the city. > A special Olympic news- > paper with a circulation of : 350,000 is to be issued ; each day in Munich from ; August 1 to September 11.; About 25,000 free copies of ■ each issue will go to the < Olympic village and the 1 remainder will be sold ! throughout West Germany J and abroad.
