Oil well progress
Shell Development (Australia) Pty, Ltd, reports that the Platypus No. 1 well has been drilled to 9,021 feet That is 8,404 feet below seabed. The well is in the Great Australian Bight, 80 miles southwest of Port Lincoln, and is the second of Shell’s two-well programme in the area.
