WOOLCRAFT KLIPPER

Dividend of 4 per cent

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 7. Woolcraft-Klipper Holdings, Ltd, which operates the subsidiaries remaining after the sale of the main company in the former Berlei Industries group, will pay a 4 per cent dividend despite a decline in earnings from $27,464 to $3878 in the year to December 19. The directors say in their preliminary report that a dividend is recommended because surplus funds and undistributed profits are available. The parent company and Klipper N.Z., Ltd, earned profits in the latest period, but Woolcraft N.Z., Ltd, traded at a loss. Last year the pre-tax profits were $12,696 for Woolcraft and $27,407 for Klipper. The dividend will be paid on capital reduced from $922,500 to $461,250 by a 50 per cent capital return in June. The earning rate on capital was 0.8 per cent. The dividend will be paid on May 3, ex April 19.
