CAR IN AVON RIVER

A man suffered lacerations to his head and concussion when the car he was driving ran off Avonside Drive and into the Avon River near Emlyn Avenue about 9.30 last night. He is Kelvin McEwan, of 37 Heathcote Street, Woolston. Mr McEwan, who was alone in the car, walked out of the river unaided. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital.
