OLDEST CITY HALL

German architecture students are searching for the oldest city hall in Germany. This timberframed house in Duder-

stadt may provide the answer. The incomplete history of the building suggests that it was built in the early sixteenth century. The

lower portion is of sandstone and may date back some 750 years. Michelstadt In the Odenwald Forest, has a city hall which was built in 1484.
