Wimbledon prizes

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON. Two $lOOO prizes will be awarded for the best matches at Wimbledon this year—one each to men and women. Wimbledon already has $50,000 in prize money. The new prizes will be sponsored by the Commercial Union Insurance Company, which also sponsored the 1972 Grand Prix, of which Wimbledon is a part. The best matches, either singles or doubles, will be judged by a panel of British sports reporters and overseas journalists.
