“Thinking tractor"

Ford have announced their “Load Monitor,” claimed to be the nearest thing yet to a tractor thinking for itself as it senses changing loads of its working implements and adjusts their depths i accordingly. This is : reported in the “Fanners’ Weekly” in Britain. The unit does not use the draught adjustment of the top link or to the lower link, but is built into the tractor’s transmission and monitors the tractor’s power, not the load on the hydraulics. It can therefore be applied to front, mid or rearmounted equipment and to semi-mounted and trailed equipment.
