Local bakers do well

Entries from as far away as Invercargill and Hastings were received for the Master Pastrycooks’ Society annual competition held recently, but local entrants tied for over-all first place. On the basis of three points for a first place in one of the 10 sections, two points for a second and one point for a third, Messrs H. Woodberg (Christchurch) and J. G. van Til (Rangiora), tied for over-all first place with 16 paints. Next was Mr E. Schmidt (Christchurch) with' 11 points, followed by Mr K. Moss (Hastings) with five points.
