(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright?

BANGKOK, March 7. The New Zealand Minister of Defence (Mr McCready) today called on FieldMarshal Thanom Kittikachorn, the chairman of the National Executive Council of Thailand. Informed sources said Mr McCready and Marshal Thanom spent an hour discussing the “defence of South-East Asia.” Mr McCready said on his arrival yesterday from Saigon that the South Vietnamese forces were in a very strong position, and that their morale was high. “They are well equipped and organised and they certainly have control of the situation,” he said. Mr McCready was to leave for Singapore tonight.
