Fire in scrub
Firemen spent more than three hours and a half to bring under control a fire in scrub on the foreshore nt South Brighton yesterday afternoon. The fire, fanned by a strong easterly wind, spread over about 20 acres in Rockinghorse Road, neat Tern Street.
Engines from the Woolston, New Brighton and Central stations fought the fire, using three jets.
