AUCKLAND. February 23. The 29,614-ton P and O liner Iberia has been taken out of the New ZealandEurope trade. She is on her way to Britain where she is due ’in April, and will not return to Australia and New Zealand in Mav as planned. P and O’s New Zealand passenger manager. Mr T. P. Foster, said todav that the Iberia was being withdrawn for technical reasons; her future programme was not known yet.
Changes in the company’s 1972 sailing programme had cut main-line voyages between New Zealand and Europe, but some more cruises had been included. The 27,955-ton Himalaya will miss an AustraliaEurope voyage in October to remain in Australian and New Zealand waters to make six cruises. The 41,915-ton lOriana will do three cruises j in southern waters instead of i a North American voyage in November.
