Socred gift to St John

The Social Credit Political League will present a fullyequipped mobile caravan to the Christchurch St John Ambulance Brigade.

The decision to give the caravan was made this week at the annual meeting of the combined Social Credit social clubs of the Christchurch area.

The league’s publicity officer (Mr G. M. Edmonds) said yesterday that the purchase of the mobile caravan would bring the total disbursement of social club funds to $BOOO in the first year of the clubs’ activities.

The following trustees were elected unopposed: Messrs R. P. Jones (chairman), R. R. Scarth, R. Scott, J. Blackie, S. G. Fitchett and Miss M. V. Phillips. Mr G. M. Edmonds was re-appointed organiser.
