Outnumbered by construction workers still on the site of the new school, the eight full time and four part-time staff of the school form the nucleus of what will one day develop into a large professional group.. The team is lead by the principal Mr French, formerly deputy - principal of Papanui High School and like most of his staff a graduate of the University of Otago. Other staff members are:— •Mr V. J. Tie — deputy principal and head of the Maths Department. He was formerly at Bayfield High School, Dunedin. •Mrs P. Armstrong—senior assistant mistress and Head of English Department. Formerly at Cashmere High School. •Mr J. P. Martin — Head of Science Department. Formerly at Waimate High School. •Mr J. K. Nichol—lt) charge of Social Studies. Has taught at Mosgiel High School, South Otago High School, Papanui High School and St Andrews College.
eMr B. James—ln charge of technical subjects. Formerly at Tongariro High School. eMiss L. James —In charge of home economics. A graduate of Christchurch Teachers’ College. eMiss B. Turbott—Commercial subjects and physed. Formerly Avonside G.H.S. eMiss F. Salmon—Teacher of French, social studies and English. eMrs J. Robinson — Music teacher.
eMrs H. Downes—principal’s secretary. eMrs M. Pierson — library assistant.
eMr L. Goldsmid — caretaker and custodian.
