TIMARU MAN DROWNED

(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU, February 22. A Timaru man was drowned when he fell into a river in the Lake Te Anau district about mid-day on Monday. He was

John Lyndsay Bennison, aged 40, a textile worker, of King Street.

Mr Bennison, with three companions, was crossing Castle Creek when he lost his footing, and was swept into Worsley Stream.

He was found floating in a pool and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was applied, but was unsuccessful.
