"The Press” Special Seroice

DUNEDIN.

An attractive gallop by Foxy, a light-weight candidate for the Wingatul Handicap, was one of the features of track work at Wingatul yesterday from horses preparing for the last day of the Dunedin Jockey Club’s meeting on Saturday. Foxy, which is raced by her Wingatul breeder, Mrs H. G. McLeod, is a member of A. N. Dldham’s team. The Afghanistan mare is a half-sister to the former brilliant galloper Royal Estate.

These times were equalled by Foxy which covered the first half-mile at threequarter pace and, picking up Melaka and Sierra Blanca, sprinted home in dashing style. Sir Francis dashed over half a mile in 50 2-ssec and maintained a smart gallop over the last three furlongs in 38 2-ssec. Centre Gallery and El Shub ran a solid seven furlongs in Imin 32 2-ssec. Kurcharre and Annenlc were together over six furlongs in Imin 17sec and Delway, Harold Bank and Mountain Lion took 25 3-ssec for the first two furlongs and completed five furlongs in Imin 4sec. In one of the few gallops on the sand. Summer Tan and Calmay ran six furlongs, the last five in Imin 7sec and the last three in 41 2-ssec.
