Boy drowns in pool

A boy, aged three years and a half, was drowned when he fell into a swimming pool at his parents’ home yesterday. He was

James John Berrow Harrison, of 322 Sawyers Arms Road, Bishopdale. The boy was found in the pool by his mother about 2.50 pan. Efforts by a doctor and a St John ambulance officer to revive the child with heart massage and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation failed. He was taken to Christchurch Hospital by a St John ambulance but was found to be dead on arrival.
