Welcome change

A baby girl was bom in Durban last night to the Dutch family of Kortenbout, ending a four-century allmale jinx. Melodie Joyce is the first girl to be bom into the family since the sixteenth century. “It must be the change in the climate,” said the happy father, Mr Grarg Kortenbout, who emigrated from the Netherlands to South Africa 23 years ago, with his wife, Pamela. Melodie is also the first child of the family to be bom outside the' Netherlands.—Durban, February 22.
