$20,000 bull
A three-year-old Friesian bull has been sold at Latrobe, on Tasmania’s north-west coast, for the all-breeds Australian record of $20,000. All 18 stud cattle on offer at the sale were sold for a total of $45,950, and the record bull, 'Calthorp Jewel King, was bought by Selective Breeders (Australia), of Melbourne, specifically to export semen to the United Kingdom, Canada and New Zealand.— Hobart, February 16.
