Women’s bowls
The defending title-holder, Mrs E. Hirst (New Brighton) was one of the eight skips left in the field after the first three rounds yesterday of the Christchurch Women’s Bowling Centre’s champion-of-champions pairs tournament. The other skips remaining are Mesdames A. Whiting (Woolston W.M.C.), J. Caldwell (Monavale), E. Steele (Shirley), C. Beer (Oxford), E. Merrin (Morrison Avenue), R. Grove (Cashmere), and D. Lamb (Beckenham). Two greens—Beckenham and Barrington—were used yesterday 'to accommodate the 37 entries. The tournament will finish today o<n the Hornby green.
