Sickness benefit
Sir, —I agree with “Malnutrition” that it is very hard to live on the sickness benefit. Two years ago I had a very severe heart attack. Green Lane Hospital found that it was too dangerous to operate on me and sent me home. The hospital and doctor then advised me that I must knock off work, for good or I would not last much longer. I found that I could not live on the $25 a week for a married man and have been forced to return to work. I feel a great strain on myself but what else can I do?—Yours, etc., TIRED OUT.
