TAI TAPU LAND

Four lots of land situated on the main Christchurch-Tai Tapu highway, eight miles from the Christchurch City, were all passed in at auction on Friday. They were offered on account of the trustees of the late C. S. Sparks by Pyne, Gould, Guinness, Ltd, in conjunction with the NMA Company of New Zealand, Ltd. Lot I, which consisted of! 48 acres, including all buildings, was passed in at $875 an acre. Lot 11, 39 acres of, bare land was passed in at $750 an acre. Lot 111, 18 acres of bare land, was passed in at $766, and Lot IV, 36 acres of bare land, at $725. Although disappointing, the prices bid at auction were not very far from the reserve prices, said a spokesman for the auctioneers.
