'No good will,’ says Mintoff

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 10.

The Prime Minister of Malta (Mr Mintoff) said in a telephone interview broadcast on British television last night that there was no good will on Britain’s part in the negotiations over military bases on the Mediterranean island.

Speaking to the British Labour member of Parliament and journalist, Tom Driberg, on the Independent Television Network programme, “Today,” Mr Mintoff said: “The British delegation come out with a load of rubbish on certain points, including conditions for employing Maltese at the bases.”

Mr Mintoff added that he did not believe the latest British proposals, which he had rejected, were final.
