Installation ceremony
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 9. In a ceremony at Government House this afternoon, the new Cabinet took up office.
The Governor-General (Sir Arthur Porritt) accepted the resignations of retiring Cabinet Ministers, and new Ministers took the oath of allegiance and the oath by which they became members of the Executive Council. After the ceremony both Sir Arthur Porritt and the Prime Minister (Mr Marshall) paid tribute to the retiring Ministers.
Mr Marshall said that one of the sad features of being a new Prime Minister was that some members of the former Cabinet might wish to retire, and not be in the new team.
