"The Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Silver Knight and Josie Glow ran solid trials at Awapuni yesterday morning in preparation for the Wanganui Gold Cup on Saturday. The plough was used for most ns, the pegs being out 60ft e course proper. On the plough, Josie Glow took time honours when she ran seven furlongs in Imin 31 2-ssec, the last three keenly in 39 2-osec. Toraben shaded Kentucky Breeze, with General Ambrose well beaten, over seven furlongs in Imin 31 3-ssec. He was travelling much the better over the last three in 39 3-ssec. Silver Knight was not after time. He galloped comfortably alongside Copper Royal to record Imin 36 l-ssec for seven furlongs. They accelerated a little over the last three in 39 2-ssec, Silver Knight having plenty in hand. Edirne went keenly over five furlongs in Imin 8 3-ssec, the last three in 38 4-Ssec. I’m Awake and Sir Citroen recorded 39 2-ssec for three furlongs. El Gazza was alongside Dottrice, with a gap to Wyndham Mac, at the end of five furlongs in Imin' 4sec, the last three in 39 2-ssec.
