I. R. Walker suspended
I. R. Walker, the driver of the winner, Ar Miss, in the Cross Stakes at Addington Raceway on Saturday night, had his horseman’s licence suspended till and including January 29 for coming across too quickly at the end of a furlong and checking Johnnv Kirk (F. E. Newfield). E. Cowie, the driver of Excellence. the winner of the Summer Stakes, was fined *2O for undue use of the whip. In the same event Brilliant Blue, which broke before the start, was declared ineligible to start at a totalisator meeting up till and including February 26. An objection was lodged against second place being awarded to About Time after the Progressive Trotting Stakes. After hearing evidence it was decided to relegate About Time, which galloped over the concluding stages of the race, to fourth and promote Janday to second and Pakeha Queen to third.
