Impressive club house

The impressive club house opened in August 1969 at a cost of $45,000 is the fourth to serve the Rangiora Golf Club. Erected by a Rangiora building and civil < engineering firm, Wadey and Efford, Ltd, the 4000 sq. ft club house is extensively glazed on its long northern front. The elevated position of the building on top of a terrace gives excellent views overlooking the first and the eighteenth fairways with the, eighteenth hole close to the building. The well appointed club house includes a main lounge, carpeted and comfortably furnished; a diningdancing area with chipboard flooring and furnished with small tables seating four each; a smaller sun lounge, carpeted also and suitably furnished; offices; kitchen; and spacious changing facilities with showers. The main lounge and the dining area can be combined to form one large reception room 72ft and varying in width from 24ft to 30ft.

To facilitate the calling of players for the start of major tournaments a public address system has been incorporated throughout the building and to the car park and to the first tee. Not only does the new club house offer full facilities for golfers but it is

available also for other social gatherings and sports functions by arrangement with the club committee and several wedding receptions have been held in its pleasant surroundings. The course is available also to green-fee players,

either those on holiday or others looking for an interesting change of venue. A limited number of group bookings with full use of the club house facilities can be catered for, especially mid-week and during the summer.
