DUNEDIN, Dec. 29. The veteran long-distance walker, author and bibliophile, Mr A. H. Reed, will celebrate his ninetysixth birthday tomorrow by walking the , two miles from the Andersons Bay-Presbyterian Church to the Soldiers’ Monument
In the past years Mr Reed challenged any heavy drinker or smoker 10 years his junior, to walk 20 miles. Last year he reduced the distance to 10 miles.
This year fie has broken with a long-standing tradition to walk a long distance on his birthday but says that the challenge to walk 10 miles still stands.
