Shipping rates revised
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Dec. 29. Cargoes shipped from Europe to many Far East ports cost more from yesterday, because of changes in currency values. The Far East Freight Conference and its associated organisations, which handles trade between Europe and Japan, the Philippines and Europe, and Sabah, Brunei and Sarawak, has revised all its charges. Shipments from Britain, Scandinavia arid France to Far East ports its members serve will be subjected to an additional 9 per cent; from Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, to 11 per cent; and from Japan, 13 per cent. These additions will be subject to review.
