Girl survives in forest

(N.Z. Press A»sn. —Copyright)

MOSCOW, Dec. 28. A six-year-old girl survived 23 days alone and without food in a forest in Azerbaijan, the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” says. A forest ranger found her “lying on the ground. She was covered with her shawl; her dress was in shreds,” the newspaper said. Her parents had given her up for dead. “The girl was extremely thin. In a barely audible whisper she said that she was gathering wild strawberries when she became lost—in a region abounding with wolves, bears and wild boar.” Hundreds of people searched for her for .two weeks, then gave up the hunt.
