Christmas appeals

Sir, —I would like to express our gratitude to the generous citizens of Christchurch for their wonderful response to our Christmas appeal. The response was so great that hundreds of children and older citizens were able to receive gifts of toys, clothing, and food. The gifts, plus the realisation that somebody cared, made Christmas a much happier event for them.—Ydurs, etc., (The Rev.) T. J. CAHILL, Director, Catholic Social Services. December 24,1971.
