Colts cricket tournament
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. Hawke’s Bay - Southern Hawke’s Bay emerged as top points scorers after the second day of the Central Districts colts cricket tournament at Palmerston North yesterday. With an outright win over Manawatu - Rangatiki - Horowhenua, Hawke’s Bay-South-ern Hawke’s Bay ended the day with 18 points. Taranaki-Wanganui, after dismissing Nelson - Marlborough - Wairarapa for 161 in the first innings and 128 in the second, were late in the day chasing a deficit of 65 in 10 overs for an outright win. But when Tara-naki-Wanganui failed to claim extra time, the match ended with Taranaki-Wanganui two without loss.
Taranaki-Wanganui ended with seven points, Nelson-Marlborough-Wairarapa had three, and Manawatu-Ranga-tiki-Horowhenua two.
Nelson - Marlborough .- Wairarapa 161 and 128 (». Ryan 42, T. Short 27; R. Hill 4/23, I. Snook 3/36) drew with TaranakiWanganui 225 (I. Nook 57, F. HUI 57; N. Maclaine 4/52. T. Short 2/36) and 2/0.
