Mummy ‘not Thutmosis’

IN.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) ANN ARBOR (Michigan), December 27. Scientists say that a mummy, said to be that of Thutmosis the First, who reigned as a Pharaoh 2500 years ago, seems to be an unidentified youth, according to an X-ray study. Dr James Harris, a dental surgeon at the University of Michigan, said that the Egyptian ruler Thutmosis was age'd about 40 when he died; the mummy identified as Thutmosis in the National Museum, Cairo, is that of a young man aged about 18. The mistake might have occurred because of grave robberies. He said that manv of the mummies were reinterred in the 21st dynasty, about 1000 8.C., after the Pharaohs’ tombs had been violated.
