Fine run by Kirrama

“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. Kirrama turned in another of i his brilliant training gallops this | morning when he clocked 59 4-ssec on the inside of the No. 1 grass at Takanini. None went faster, but Shifon’s time was not much worse. Breathalyser again excelled over a mile.

Kirrama (G. Hughes) was galloping strongly on the outside of Robin Royal (Skelton) at the finish of five furlongs in 59 4-ssec, the last four in 47 4*ssec. Robin Royal kept up well until near the finish, then had to be urged along. Since being speeded up again in his work, Kirrama has not failed to be impressive. Robin Royal continues to work pretty well, but his form lately has been disappointing. Fables (Andrews) and Sweet Candy (Rimmer) kep together over half a mile in 47 4-ssec, although it was Fables which most took the eye. With a reasonably good beginning Fables seems certain to take beating on Monday. Gold Ducat (Heaslip) and .Tower Mill (Peake) were clear of Puck (Wyatt) finishing half a mile in 48 3-ssec. As a laststart winner, at Te Aroha, Gold Ducat commands respect in the Breeders’ Plate, especially as he has a handy barrier position.

Breathalyser (Skelton) away from the mile and quickened to run the last six furlongs in Imin 15sec and four in 48 3-ssec. It was her second very good gallop this week. She has seldom looked better. Shifon (Heaslip), after starting very fast, eased to finish five furlongs in 60 3-ssec.

Styleman (Kempton) cleared away from Royal Escort (Jenkins) toward the finish of a mile in Imin 43 l-ssec. Judged by his training, Styleman is likely to find form again at any time, but he has been racing disappointingly. Harleigh March (Wyatt) showed himself thoroughly recovered from the soreness which has troubled him lately when he reeled off six furlongs in Imin 12 l-ssec. It was a solid trial for the A.R.C. Christmas Handicap on Monday. * Banker’s Joy (Peake) beat Shimmering (Skelton) by a couple of lengths over six furlongs in Imin 14 3-ssec. He worked more freely than Shimmering, which woißd appreciate any easing of the ground. Tufan (Andrews) and Montel (Skelton) were together over six furlongs in Imin 14 2-ssec. Valletta (Yetton) and Impartial (Cunard) were on terms over six furlongs in Imin 14 3-ssec. Poseur (Andrews) led Gay Talker (Peake) by a neck at the end of half a mile in 49 4-ssec. Both youngsters worked soundly. Supreme Miss (Heaslip), a Christmas Handicap light-weight, was never at top over six furlongs in Imin 15 2>ssec.
